Samangad Fort sits on top of an oval-topped hill about 2,600 feet (790 meters) above Gadhinglaj. It is surrounded by an eight-foot-tall fortification wall that was built by Shilahara Bhoja II and strengthened by Shivaji in 1676. It was stormed in the 1844 rebellion. Even though it was small, it was known as one of the Marathas' most well-defended strongholds. The short walk from Chinchewadi village takes 45 minutes to an hour and goes through thick forest to get to the ruins of forts, a laterite square well and memorials to warrior Prataprao Gujar. Three architecturally unique rock-cut stepwells, a secret door, and Shahid monuments are some of the most interesting things about this place. After Shivratri, the Bhimacha Utsav brings colourful fairs, races, and local pageantry every year. There are no amenities on site, so bring snacks and water. Take in the beautiful valley views and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Sahyadri wilderness.

Revdanda Fort is a 16th-century Portuguese coastal fort located near Alibaug in Maharashtra, where the Kundalika River meets the Arabian Sea. Rangana Fort (Prasiddhagad) is located along the Sahyadri ridge between Kolhapur and Sindhudurg, at an elevation of about 2,227–2,600 ft. It is covered in mossy plants that make it hard to see until you get very close. Shivaji Maharaj took this large fort from the Shilahara dynasty in 1659. It is about 3 km × 1 km and has five gates that are still standing, three lakes that are always full, a Bhadrakali temple, and the old Ranganai Devi shrine.The experienced trek starts in Patgaon or Chikkewadi and goes through a dense jungle trail for 2–3 hours. It gives hikers great views of Manohar‑gad, Mansantoshgad, and the valleys below. Wild animals like bisons, leopards, and peacocks live in the forest around the fort, which makes it even more interesting. This is a great place for adventurous heritage seekers because it has solitude, rustic camping on the plateau, and an unforgettable trip through the history of the wilderness.

Rajapur Fort, also known as the British Warehouse Fort, is a small riverside fortification on the banks of the River Arjuna in Rajapur, Maharashtra. It was built by the British in the mid-1600s to protect their warehouse and cargo storage. The fort features remnants of ramparts, two bastions, and a moat. Today, the decayed structures stand amid modern buildings, including a police complex built on the original site. Also, visit the nearby Dhootpapeshwar Temple and hot springs to make it a day trip of exploration.
