Masjid Al haram is a mosque in Mecca that surrounds the Kaaba and is one of the best places to visit in Saudi Arabia. It is the largest mosque in the world and regarded as one of Islam's holiest sites. The Masjid Al-Haram houses a structure called “The Black Stone” at its eastern corner which Muslim pilgrims travel to from all over for their Hajj or Umrah pilgrimage.
According to Islamic beliefs, Prophet Muhammad was lifted up from inside Al-Masjid Al-Haram during the Night Journey before ascending into heaven. The mosque is located in Islamic territory, which is also called the Hijaz region and thus is a place of worship for Muslims. It is frequently expected to be the final site of Hajj. The mosque is made up of multiple buildings, each with different purposes, but all are built to venerate Allah. Here you will see that a rectangular central courtyard is ringed by covered prayer rooms of the mosque.
The Kabah, which is composed of grey stone and marble, stands in the courtyard. As well as sacred Islamic rituals there is also entertainment inside the Great Mosque of Mecca, especially during Hajj.
