Mount Arafat

A historic site which is one of the Places to visit in Mecca is Mount Arafat, also known by its Arabic name, Jabal ar-Raḥmah, meaning 'Mountain of Mercy’. Visit this granodiorite hill located about 20 km southeast of Mecca and known for its Islamic traditions. This is the mountain where the Prophet Muhammad stood and delivered the Khutbat al-Wada, also known as the Farewell Sermon, to his Companions (known as Sahabah) who had accompanied him for the Hajj towards the end of his life.

Explore the place and climb up the mountain to reach the pillar on the top signifying the place where Adam and Eve are believed to have been reunited on the Earth after they fell from heaven. On the 9th day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, Hajj pilgrims leave Mina to reach Mount Arafat to spend the whole day on this mountain praying to the god to invoke their sins.
