Known for its dramatic setting and spiritual significance, it attracts visitors seeking tranquility and breathtaking views. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva and is an important pilgrimage site for Balinese Hindus. Its picturesque surroundings and cultural importance make it a must-visit destination in Bali.

One of the major temples in the temple trio of Pura Pulaki, Pura Pabean and Pura Melanting is Pura Pulaki. Visit these temples which are bestowed upon a portion between the craggy mountains and black sands of the north coast beaches near Pemuteran with our Bali packages. The temples which are prominent in Balinese Hindu culture have a unique spiritual function but the settings are quite amusing and thus tourists from different parts of the world become attracted to them.

Pura Pulaki is exactly located around 1.5 km east to Pemuteran, sitting on the foothills overlooking the opulent sea. Locals, as well as visitors, come here regularly, throughout the day, to pray, to offer tributes as the temple has a significant role in the belief system of Balinese traditions. A small shrine is situated on the roadside where priests flick the holy water on the devotees who pass by.

History of the Temple: The temple was founded by a famous priest who lived in the 16th century, Nirartha- he was led by a group of macaques. Due to the unending respect to the priest, those macaques started guarding the temple since then and it continues still. But the number of them just got shot up and now almost all the shrines in the temple are within monkey-proof cages. There are human temple guards now to keep these monkeys away from destroying the assets of the temple and disturbing others.

Highlights: The black structure of the temple outshines even the turquoise blue in front of it but some of the decorations inside are made of cement and painted in some alluring colours. Outside the temple, there are food stalls and other shops.

Entry fee: The tourists are required to pay 10000 IDR as an entry fee to the temple as well as you will need a sarong and sash to get inside.

Location: Jl. Seririt-Gilimanuk, Banyupoh, Gerokgak, Kabupaten Buleleng, Bali 81155, Indonesia
