An underwater haven located in extreme close proximity to the Blue Lagoon Beach in eastern Bali, Tanjung Jepun ranks as one of the best snorkelling and diving spots to discover while on your Bali tour. It is also home to some of the most beautiful and vibrant coral reefs, along with a variety of marine creatures. Therefore, Tanjung Jepun is a heaven for marine enthusiasts, in addition to being a great place to enjoy underwater macro photography.  

Tanjong Jepun also serves as a popular diving spot, even for beginners as well as children, owing to its extremely calm waters that remain tranquil for a major part of the year. Complete with sparkling waters and sandy white beaches, Tanjung Jepun is also one place where you can catch a glimpse of the exotic species of fishes, including parrotfish and manta rays, along with a variety of turtles, sharks among others.

Besides the abundant marine life here, Tanjung Jepun also has an artificial reef and a small wreckage of a submarine that you can explore. A popular place for diving at night, it is here where you can spot blue spotted stingrays, frogfish, crocodile fish, ghost pipefish, reef sharks, trigger fish, sea moth, and the coral cat shark, along with other species of fish, swimming around the dark waters.

How To Reach Tanjung Jepun

Tanjung Jepun is located in Padang Bai, in eastern Bali, around an hour and a half hour away from the Ngurah Rai International Airports. Upon reaching the airport, you can take a taxi or bemo or bus to any of the beaches in Denpasar, from where a speedboat or traditional fishing boat can take you all the way to Tanjung Jepun.

Best Time To Visit Tanjung Jepun

The best time to visit Tanjung Jepun is from the month of March to October. In addition to the weather being dry, the sea is calm during these months, and there is little to no rainfall. Tanjung Jepun becomes a diver’s paradise during this time too, since the visibility is relatively clearer, and the waters warm enough.
