Waitemata Harbour, Auckland

About Waitemata Harbour

Waitematā Harbour is the key gateway to Auckland via sea. Now, even though it is one of the two harbors bordering the area, it is sometimes known as Auckland Harbour. Deep navigable waterways, sluggish tides, and limited tidal range all lead to good berthing conditions for huge ships.

The harbor also offers an atmosphere for a one-day regatta that annually attracts hundreds of people into Auckland. One can enjoy the spectacular views of the skyscrapers, relax amidst the serene sound of water, explore the nearby shops and cafes.
