About Yvoire

Yvoire is a small town located on the shore of Lake Geneva in France. This town is more than 700 years old and continues to have an age-old vibe. Many years ago, this palace was nothing but a small fishing village. As time went by, it blossomed into a major tourist attraction and continues to attract tourists. From stone houses and wooden balconies decorated with flowers, this town has a lot to offer.

While many think that Yvoire is located in Switzerland, it is actually located in France in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region. Yvoire also takes pride in being a part of France's most beautiful villages list. In fact, the village also has a 4-flower Village Fleuri ranking since the 1950s for its pristine look. Whether you want to go for a day trip or even spend a few days in this village, Yvoire has got you covered.

Take a Boat Tour

Take a Boat Tour

There is nothing like taking a boat tour on Lake Geneva and admiring the picturesque views. We recommend taking a boat tour to a small town known as Nyon as it takes only one hour 30 minutes. Most of the cruises for this experience usually depart from the Port de Plaisance and are ticketed. So we recommend you book them well in advance, even if you are travelling with a pet animal like dogs. Each boat can take up to 10 people maximum, so if you are travelling as a group, be prepared accordingly.

Visit the Waterfront

Visit the Waterfront

The Port de Plaisance is one of the most sought after attractions in the town for its views. From here, you can get a clear view of spots like Lake Geneva, Yvoire castle and the surrounding mountains. Some of the experiences here include going for walks, clicking pictures and simply admiring the views of the boats. If you are interested, you can also head to Port des Pecheurs to check out the different fishing boats too. You will also come across restaurants selling seafood items like squid that you can try out too.
