Amman

If you are going to visit Wadi Rum be sure that you don't miss the opportunity to visit the most popular natural rock bridge Um Frouth. This place will make you wonder how nature is cable of creating this piece of art.Stop At: Nabatean Temple, Aqaba Governorate, JordanOn a small hill in Rum village, are the limited ruins of a 2000-year-old temple, dedicated to the deity Lat. The ruins are important because they are evidence of a permanent Nabataean settlement, built on the earlier foundations of a temple built by the Arab tribe of Ad.Duration: 10 minutesStop At: Lawrence's Spring, Wadi Rum JordanThe spring named in honor of Lawrence’s evocative description in the Seven Pillars of Wisdom: 'In front of us a path, pale with use, zigzagged up the cliff-plinth…From between [the] trees, in hidden crannies of the rock, issued strange cries; the echoes turned into music, of the voices of the Arabs watering camels at the springs which there flowed out three hundred feet above ground'.Together with other springs in the area, this natural water spout that tumbles into a leafy ‘paradise just five feet square’ allowed Rum to become an essential waterhole for caravans traveling between Syria and Arabia. Look out for a small shrine dedicated to Lat; an aqueduct used to channel the water from the spring and inscriptions on the rock face. Notice to the aroma of mint in the air: it grows wild among the ferns and trees of this shady place.Duration: 20 minutesStop At: Jebel Khazali, Wadi Rum JordanAn easy siq to explore is the narrow fissure that cuts into Jebel Khazali. You can explore on foot for about 150m, far enough to appreciate the cool shade and to see inscriptions made by the ancients who used the siq for the same purpose. Look out for drawings of ostriches, pairs of feet and a woman giving birth.Duration: 30 minutesStop At: Al Ramal Red Sand Dune, Aqaba Qasabah District, JordanEnjoy your desert experience by walking up this soft silk dune and enjoying the magnificent endless mountain desert view.Duration: 25 minutesStop At: Little Bridge, Wadi Rum Village, JordanA beautiful natural rock bridge in the middle of this Mars-like desert, take your time to climb it and take unforgettable photos.Duration: 20 minutesStop At: Um Frouth Rock Bridge, Wadi Rum Village, JordanThe second biggest rock bridge in the Wadi Rum desert and the easiest to climb. Amman

About the Package:Explore some of Jordan's most spectacular sites on a 2-day, private tour for (1-7 people) from Amman. On the first day depart to Amman and travel south to Petra. Founded by the Nabateans, Petra is considered one of the wonders of the world. Located 139 miles (225 kilometres) from Amman, Petra was carved in stone more than 2,000 years ago. It dominated the trade routes of ancient Arabia. Upon arrival, walk the narrow path of the Siq to discover the main entrance to the city. At the end of the Siq, see the Treasury (al-Khazneh), which was believed to hold countless treasures. Continue to the monastery and Altar of Sacrifice. Then, transfer to Wadi Rum in the afternoon. Spend the night in a Bedouin camp and enjoy dinner and some night time activities. On the second day, after breakfast, drive to Wadi Rum by 4WD jeep. Wadi Rum (Valley of the Moon) is where the legendary film Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. Marvel at the unique shape of the mountain as it rises from the rose-red sand of the desert. See towering cliffs of brownish, reddish and golden colors. Continue toward the Gulf of Aqaba on the Red Sea and spend about two hours here. Red sea stop is skipped during the winter season - Nov to the end of March. Then transfer to the Dead Sea, famous for the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Located 400 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is one of Jordan's most spectacular sites. Marvel at the calm waters glinting in the scorching sun. Legendary for its high concentration of salt and minerals, the Dead Sea is therapeutic and provides for a unique swimming experience. After some free time to swim, return to your hotel in Amman.

Amman

About the Package:Stretching east of Amman, the parched desert plain rolls on to Iraq and Saudi Arabia. This is a place where endless sand and barren basalt landscapes prove man’s ability to thrive under harsh conditions. The discovery of flint hand-axes in this desert indicates that Paleolithic settlers inhabited the region around half a million years ago. But the most remarkable remains of human habitation are the palaces built by the Damascus-based Umayyad caliphs during the early days of Islam (seventh-eighth centuries CE). On this trip, cyclists will visit two of the main castles by bike, crossing the eastern desert of Jordan and stopping on the way at the Azraq Eco-Lodge where you will rest and have lunch before visiting the wetland reserve. The Azraq Wetland Reserve is a nature reserve located near the town of Azraq in the eastern desert of Jordan. An oasis for migratory birds, Azraq was established in 1978 and covers 12 square kilometres. The Cycling route will be a dirt road cross the desert and passes through magnificent basalt landscapes, where there might be a chance to see some Bedouins, camels and much more.
