Raghunath Temple

Raghunath Ji is the chief deity of Kullu and the Raghunath Temple is one of the most famous places to visit in Kullu. Raghunath is another name of Lord Rama and the temple is dedicated to him. It is one of the oldest temples present in Himachal Pradesh. The high-rise temple is present on a hillock and provides visitors with the magnificent view of the valley. The compound of the temple is huge. It covers the entire peak of the hillock. The temple was built by Raja Jagat Singh in the 17th century. It is a mix of both pyramidal and Himachali style of architecture.Raja Jagat Singh built this temple as an apology for all the sins he has committed in his lifetime. According to the mythology, it has been believed that the idol of Raghunath in this temple was used by Lord Rama in the Ashwemedha Yaga. The idol was brought from Ayodhya and has been established here. There are a lot of stories around this temple and you can hear them from the guides who are present in the temple. Bijli Mahadev Temple

Kullu has a huge history in its sack. It also homes one of the most beautiful temples in India. Bijli Mahadev Temple stands out from all the other temples due to its serenity and scenic beauty. It is located at a height of 2460 m above the sea level. This temple is a “Kash” style temple in which Lord Shiva is in the form of Shiva Lingam. The temple can be reached easily after crossing the Beas River. It is located 22 km away from Kullu. The higher ground surrounding the temple offers a panoramic view of the Paravati and Kullu valley. The glistening 60 feet staff of Bijli Mahadev is visible from a very long distance. Legend says that this temple gets struck by lightning every year. This is why the temple is named after lightning. The lightning distorts the position of the Shiva Linga. The priest of the temple attaches it again using sattoo and butter as an adhesive. To reach this temple, you will have to perform a 3 km moderately difficult trek uphill. It is an easy trek for the younger persons. Kosha Modi Prashar Lake Trek

We were a group of 50 students who went on a trip booked through thrillophilia. We had two stops in our journey, Kullu, and Prashar Lake. Kullu: We reached Kullu after an overnight bus journey. There were 10 tents, each with clean attached bathrooms. The tents were in a secluded area by the riverside. The location was beautiful and private. We did river rafting (around 4 kms) and rope activities by the day time. Around the evening, we all enjoyed by the bonfire. You can also walk around the streets during the day, and get a feel of the place. All in all, it was a very memorable experience. Next morning, we left for Mandi in a bus, and then left for trekking to Prashar Lake. It was a picturesque 7 km trek, doable for beginners. The view was extremely scenic especially at the top. There were 14 tents for all us, and a sleeping bag for each (The temperature had really fallen due to a hailstorm). Tasty food was served by the lake . There was a great view of snow-clad mountains from the location. All in all, the place was very serene and beautiful. One drawback was, that there were just three dirty bathrooms for 50 people. This trip is very suitable for adventurous people wanting a break from the city life in a destination which is not overcrowded.

Prashar lake is one of the most beautiful and scenic places. We had visited the place between April and July and again in September and November and the later one is the best time i would suggest for anyone to visit such a peaceful and serene beauty!

Excellent destination with awesome views. It is lies 49KM north of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and located at height of 2730m above the sea level. With deep blue water the lake looks mind blowing.

Yashowardhan Chaturvedi Prashar Lake Trek

Prashar lake trek is a pretty jungle trail. It's perfect for the first timers as well as for pro's. I went in Nov, the sun was out and the views were fantastic. The view of Prashar lake is also serene. Do climb up the mound for the iconic view. The services at the camp site are also wonderful: fantastic food, courteous staff and warm tents. I would give an additional star to the organizer, Raj. When you are with him, you don't need to take any stress. He does out of his way to help you. You need any support, just call him!!

Naval Chaturvedi Bijli Mahadev Trek

Excellent

It was a great experience to trek to Bijli Mahadev Temple and watched one of the amazing views of the Kullu and Parvati Valley. The entire trekking trail is surrounded by long trees and deodar forests. Even there are some shops for snacking and the 360-degree views of Himalayan Mountain Ranges were worth seeing here. Such an amazing place to go for in Manali.

Ganak Marar Bijli Mahadev Trek

Excellent

This was not so much a famous trek among people and was quite peaceful during the climb. The climb is a bit steep but when you had Lord Shiva in mind it was nothing. The temple had such a positive atmosphere and it was surrounded by beautiful scenery and one of the best valleys as well. It was like heaven on earth as it was covered by snow most of the time.
