The Imperial Palace

The major draw of Tokyo is the Imperial Palace. Nested in the Marunouchi district, the palace with its 17th century parks is encompassed by moats and walls. Still used by the Imperial family of Japan, the palace stands on the very site which in 1457 had the first fortress built by the Feudal Lord Ota Dokan. Some notable features of the palace include the 2 meter thick wall enveloping the palace and its gates, one of which leads you to the East Higashi-Gyoen Garden which is one of the few areas that remain open for public viewing. The main palace gardens are open just twice a year – One on April 29th and the other time on 2nd January during this time people flock in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the Emperor. This is the best sightseeing attraction of Tokyo

Ginza District

Ginza District calls you to shop till you drop. It is one of the busiest shopping destination of Tokyo. The district is considered to be just as iconic as the Times Square of New York. It is the very place where the 5 ancient roads connect all the major cities of the Japan. Fringed by imposing palatial stores and several executive shops, Ginza district is just a great place even if you wish to just wander around. You can sit in one of the many coffee and tea shops or the restaurants while watching the world pass by you. Even if you don’t want to shop, this is one tourist attraction you simply can’t afford to miss.

Asakusa and Sens-ji Temple

The Asakusa district is a home to one of the most famous shrine of Tokyo - exquisite Sens-ji Temple. It has rightly retained its original appearance despite having been built multiple times. The top highlight of the temple includes the Kaminari-mon Gate that has a 3.3 meter high red paper lantern which has "Thunder Gate;" inscribed on it. What you will like there?

The Manners

People in Tokyo are incredibly considerate and friendly. Everything you’ll see here from the sidewalks to the subways is neat and tidy. Passing through the streets of Tokyo, you’ll notice that there are hardly any trash bins in the city yet nobody here litters. It is a standard rule here to take back your trash with you to home in a purse or bag that you are carrying and throw it only in a bin. More so, people always organize themselves in straight lines while they wait for in the massively cramped subways. You can also find female only cars for the ladies who feel uncomfortable standing so close to the men. However, the ultimate decorum of mannerism of people of Tokyo is noticed in their restroom etiquette. Bathroom sounds are considered to be very rude in Tokyo. This is the reason why the toilets are equipped with the control pads which offer musical options. You can play these on the go so that there is no one hearing you when you are peeing.
