Best Thailand Tour Packages for Family

Reviewed by Thrillophilia Thailand Operational Experts

Updated as of June 2026

The Thailand family tour package, from 5 to 16 days, ranges between INR 21,875 to INR 149,670 per person. It covers places like Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, and Krabi.

For Indian families, Thailand is usually the first international trip that feels both exciting and manageable. The flights are relatively short, the food is adaptable even for picky eaters, and the country offers a balance that works surprisingly well for mixed-age groups.

A family trip to Thailand rarely feels one-dimensional. One day could involve temple visits and floating markets in Bangkok, while the next could mean island-hopping near Phuket or a relaxed evening by the beaches of Krabi. Parents often enjoy how easy it is to move between destinations, while children naturally gravitate towards aquariums, theme parks, boat rides, and interactive attractions spread across the country.

With Thrillophilia, families receive curated stays, transfers, guided sightseeing, and destination support throughout the journey. The Thailand family package itineraries are usually planned with realistic pacing rather than overloading each day with activities, which is especially important when travelling with children or elderly family members.

Thailand Families Package: Breakdown

Thailand family package costs usually depend on travel season, destination mix, hotel category, and island experiences.

Flights from India to Thailand generally fluctuate heavily during the December, New Year, and school holiday periods. Families travelling during April or October often find better pricing suitable for a Thailand budget tour package, compared to the peak winter months.

How to Reach to Thailand

The best and fastest way to travel to Thailand is by air. Travellers like Shiju prefer a direct flight from Kerala to reach Thailand more than any other option. Shiju P., one of the verified Thrillophilia travellers from Cochin who booked the Thailand Family Tour | Pattaya Beaches, Bangkok Cruise & Safari World package, reviewed in December 2025, said that "Flying AirAsia directly from COK made the trip so easy. We reached Bangkok in 4 hours and were having lunch at our hotel by noon. Thrillophilia handled our Phuket flights and transfers perfectly. The highlight was Safari World for the kids—the driver was very professional and punctual.”

For Thailand budget tour packages, there are options to reach both direct and connecting flights from major cities in India. Moreover, connecting flights are more frequent than direct flights. Our Thailand budget tour packages are put together so that they can work with your flight times and make sure that your transfers to and from the airport go smoothly.

Direct Flights:

  • From: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai
  • To: Bangkok, Thailand
  • Airlines: AirAsia, Thai Airways, Air India Express, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Vietjet
  • Cost: INR 30,000 and INR 40,000
  • Average Duration: 4 hours 10 minutes

Connective Flights:

  • From: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmadabad
  • Via: Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Colombo, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore
  • To: Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai
  • Airlines: SriLankan Airlines, Air India and IndiGo
  • Cost: INR 22,000 to INR 36,000
  • Average Duration: 7 hours to 15+ hours, depending on layover time

Thailand Visa for Indians (2026)

  • Thailand is no longer visa-free for Indians as of June 2026. The tourist visa starts from INR 3000 for a single entry, which is actually less than the visa for other destinations and can be a good deal for your low-budget Thailand trip.
  • You need a passport with 6 months' validity, proof of hotel booking, and a return flight ticket.
  • A Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is also required. Submit it at least 3 days before travel via the official portal at https://thaievisa.go.th/.

How to Reach Thailand from India

Thailand is well-connected to India through direct flights from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, and

Ahmedabad. Subhamoy Das, one of our verified passengers who booked the Wonders of Thailand | Culture, Corals and Coastlines package, shared in March 2026 that, “Travelled from Kolkata and was impressed by the meticulous planning. From the first call, the team at Thrillophilia support is very helpful and handled my many queries with patience. They explained to me very well about the island transfers and city tours. Everything was so well-coordinated that I will definitely book my next family vacation through them as well.”

Most travellers arrive at:

  • Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok
  • Don Mueang Airport (DMK) for budget carriers
  • Phuket International Airport (HKT) for beach itineraries

Airlines operating these routes include Thai Airways, Air India, IndiGo, AirAsia, and Bangkok Airways.

Flight durations usually range between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the departure city and route.

Best Time to Go on a Thailand Family Tour

Although you can visit Thailand at any time of the year, the most recommended time to plan and book your Thailand budget package is from November to February.

1. November to February: The climate of Thailand is more tropical throughout the year, and it is hard to differentiate this kind of climate into significant climatic seasons. But from November to February, the weather in Thailand is usually dry and cool, which makes it considered the winter season of Thailand. It is the best time to plan your family trip to Thailand because of the pleasant weather and the clear scenery. Most of the Thailand family packages are planned and organised during this season.

2. March to May: This is the least preferred time to visit Thailand because of the hot and humid climate during this season. Usually, the temperature rises to a range of 38-40°C during the summer.

3. June to October: This season can be considered the monsoon season of Thailand, experiencing very humid, heavy rain and floods. This season is also not that suitable for the visitor to come for a trip, as the gloomy and rainy weather makes it difficult to visit the popular destinations included in the itinerary. Beaches swell, and the sea loses its tranquillity and calmness. Making it one of the worst times to plan your family trip to Thailand.

Places to Visit on a Thailand Family Trip

Thailand family tour packages cover a wide range of destinations, each offering a completely different experience. Here are the major places to visit in Thailand.

Noorjahan Sheikh, one of our verified travellers from Bhopal who booked the Scenic Trails of Thailand | Journey through Phuket, Koh Samui & Krabi with Full-Moon Party package, shared in May 2026 that "Thailand is perfect for a friends group trip because there is something for everyone: nightlife, beaches, shopping, island tours, and bars. We covered Bangkok and Phuket, and both places had a completely different vibe, which kept the trip exciting. The island tour was definitely the highlight for us. Spending the day on the water, visiting beautiful spots, and just enjoying together made it unforgettable. It was the kind of trip where you come back with inside jokes, too many photos, and memories that stay with you for years. Thrillophilia's ground and support team was very helpful whenever we had any issues.”

Bangkok

Bangkok is usually where most Thai family tours begin. The city feels energetic without becoming overwhelming if planned properly. Families typically spend time exploring the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, floating markets, rooftop viewpoints, and riverside areas around the Chao Phraya River.

Children often enjoy Bangkok more than expected because the city constantly shifts between traditional temples, shopping districts, aquariums, and themed attractions.

Phuket

Phuket works well for families who want a slower beach segment within the trip. Kata Beach and Karon Beach are generally preferred by families because they feel calmer compared to Patong.

Beyond beaches, Phuket also offers island tours, cultural shows, cafés, old-town walks, and easy access to Phang Nga Bay. Sunset hours here usually become the most memorable part of the stay.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai feels noticeably quieter than Bangkok and often becomes a favourite among families looking for a more relaxed pace. Surrounded by mountains and temples, the city combines culture, markets, cafés, and nature experiences within a smaller and easier-to-navigate setting.

The Doi Suthep Temple overlooking the city remains one of the most visited spots here, especially during morning hours.

Krabi

Krabi is usually chosen for its dramatic limestone cliffs, island-hopping routes, and laid-back coastal atmosphere. Railay Beach, Ao Nang, and nearby islands remain popular among families who prefer scenic beach destinations without the fast pace of larger cities.

The boat rides across Krabi’s islands also tend to become a highlight for children.

Safari World Bangkok

Safari World remains one of the more family-friendly attractions in Bangkok, especially for younger travellers. The park combines open safari zones, marine attractions, and interactive animal experiences within a full-day outing.

Families generally prefer visiting during weekdays because weekends become significantly more crowded.

Phuket FantaSea

Phuket FantaSea combines cultural storytelling, stage performances, lights, and elaborate theatrical production into one evening experience. Families travelling with children often include this because the performances feel visually engaging even without understanding the language.

Things to Do on a Thailand Family Tour

If you book a Thailand family package, here are some of the best things to do in Thailand:

Take a Chao Phraya dinner cruise.

A dinner cruise in Bangkok offers a slower and more scenic side of the city after the daytime rush. Families usually enjoy watching illuminated temples and skyline views while cruising along the river.

The relaxed pace works especially well after busy sightseeing days.

Explore Floating Markets

Bangkok’s floating markets remain one of the most unique cultural experiences in Thailand. Markets like Damnoen Saduak and Maeklong Railway Market give families a glimpse into traditional local trading culture beyond malls and tourist streets.

Early morning departures generally work best because the markets become hotter and more crowded later in the day.

Visit the Mahanakhon SkyWalk

The Mahanakhon SkyWalk offers panoramic views across Bangkok from one of the tallest buildings in Thailand. The glass-floor observation deck often becomes the main attraction for teenagers and first-time visitors.

Sunset slots usually provide the best overall experience because the city transitions from daylight into Bangkok’s illuminated skyline.

Enjoy an Island Tour near Phuket

Island tours near Phuket usually include Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island, Phi Phi Islands, or smaller limestone islands across the Andaman Sea.

Families often prefer speedboat tours with fewer island stops because long day trips can become tiring for younger children.

Spend a Day at Dream World Bangkok

Dream World combines roller coasters, themed zones, family rides, and water attractions within one large amusement park. Families travelling with children between 6 and 15 years generally spend an entire day here comfortably.

One useful detail is that weekdays feel significantly less crowded compared to weekends and public holidays.

Visit the Sanctuary of Truth, Pattaya

The Sanctuary of Truth is one of Thailand’s most impressive wooden structures and feels very different from standard tourist attractions. The hand-carved architecture combines Buddhist and Hindu motifs while overlooking the coastline of Pattaya.

Families who enjoy cultural experiences usually find this more memorable than commercial entertainment attractions.

Sample Thailand Family Itineraries: Most Booked by Our Travellers

These three itineraries reflect what families most consistently choose across Thrillophilia's Thailand tour packages. Each is built around realistic intercity transfer times, pre-bookable attraction slots, and a pace that holds up across the full duration without tiring out younger travellers.

Afternoon at Underwater World Pattaya, where the 100-metre aquarium tunnel and touch pools are consistently the highlight for families with young kids.

An evening Chao Phraya dinner cruise, gliding past the illuminated temples and skyline, is the most-mentioned family memory in traveller reviews.
  • Day 4: Bangkok city day. Morning at Safari World Bangkok combines the drive-through safari park with the marine park shows: dolphin, sea lion, and bird shows that keep kids engaged across a full day. The afternoon is free for rest or an optional Dream World visit.

My whole experience with Thrillophillia was great for our Thailand trip. The ground staff in Phuket and Krabi Ms Pum was exceptional. She was constantly in touch with us since the moment we landed and was helping us throughout the trip. She has a good knowledge of the place and was great help. The transportation that was arranged for us was amazing throughout the trip. The operation and sales team have also been quite helpful.  Couple of suggestions, the Dinner Cruise that was arranged for us in Bangkok was for Indian cuisine which was not requested by us and was not informed while we were given the booking confirmation. Our whole trip was to enjoy a different culture and cuisine so would have been better if this was informed earlier and we could have requested a change to local or international cuisine.  Another part where I felt we could have used a bit more information was regarding the zip lining. There were options to choose from multiple platforms, but only one was provided us while providing the itinerary. It would be great to show all the options so that we could select. Also, please try and provide backup during holiday or festival seasons. I felt it was a bit difficult to reach the teams during Diwali and would have been great to have alternative contact details for inquiries. Again these are just suggestions, overall we had a great experience.
