Built-in 1970 and renovated in 2004, this Homestay belongs to a very old Chettri family. Surrounded by terraced farms and deep valleys, with a magnificent view of Mt. Kanchendzonga it is a perfect place for a family holiday in Sikkim. This Ethnic Nepali style abode offers a total of 4 rooms for the guests, each with attached washrooms offering the beautiful mountain and views of terraced farms jungles typical local Houses with a thinly populated village with people of mixed communities (Bhutia Lepcha. Chettri, Sharma, Rai, Kami, Damai, Pradhan Subba, etc).

The stay is in a village is bounded by the free-flowing river on the lower belt and Rhododendron Sanctuary forest on the top of the village. Guests can go on a guided trek to Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary. Nestled between the Kanchendzonga Biosphere Reserve on its north and the Singalila National Park on its South, the sanctuary has around 600 varieties of Rhododendron along with other kinds of flora. Sprawled across an area of 104 sq. km, the place is renowned for being home to Red Panda and Black Bear, the rare Himalayan species.

At the stay, guests can participate in a number of activities such as explore the village with a walk, cooking with family, volunteer in farming activity, etc. Later, guests can spend the beautiful evening while enjoying a barbeque in the warmth of a bonfire with local drinks with friends or family.

How to reach:
The stay is around 145 km from NJP railway station and Bagdogra airport. Guests can use a shared or private taxi to reach the stay.

    Me and my friends were looking for some relaxing time but were not sure about where to book from Then, a friend of mine recommended Thrillophilia and The team at Thrillophilia made amazing arrangements at a Nepali homestay that not only had the cleanest rooms but spic-and-span attached bathrooms. This ethnic-style Nepali homestay treated us to the best continental and desi breakfasts alongside delicious spread during lunch. I am back to work but still miss the views of the Kanchendzonga that I could see from our homestay. My friends and I keep cherishing the beautiful evenings we spent with the most elaborate barbecue and bonfire. I l absolutely loved how our homestay at Sikkim not just let us live but arranged an array of farm activities, village walks, cooking lessons and guided hikes to the vivid Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary. Totally recommend Thrillophilia if you desire endless adventure!
