Bhalu Dam is one of Ranikhet’s most serene and offbeat attractions. Measuring about 70 meters long and 9 meters deep, this semicircular reservoir blends seamlessly into the surrounding forests. You can reach it by trekking a 3 km trail from the popular Chaubatia Gardens, which makes the journey as rewarding as the destination.
The dam is flanked by tall deodar, pine, and oak trees, and in spring and monsoon, the surroundings burst into shades of green and wildflowers. The peaceful setting is perfect for meditation, quiet photography, or just sitting by the calm waters.
