Dzongri Plateau is a beautiful high mountain meadow at 4,200 meters in western Sikkim, famous for giving trekkers some of the best mountain views in India without needing a very difficult trek. This wide area sits inside Kanchenjunga National Park and serves as a perfect base camp for mountain lovers. The plateau offers amazing close-up views of snow-covered peaks like Kanchenjunga, Mount Pandim, and many others that stand out clearly against the blue sky on clear days.

What makes Dzongri special is the trek to get there – you walk through thick forests full of colorful rhododendron flowers, cross clear mountain streams, and see different types of plants and animals along the way. The camping area has a solid trekkers' hut that can sleep 30 people, plus lots of flat ground for tents. A gentle stream flows right next to the camping area, giving fresh water. From the main plateau, it's just a short 1 km walk to Dzongri Top, where you can watch the sunrise turn the mountains bright gold. This trek is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to see big Himalayan peaks without spending weeks on the trail.

Dzongri Plateau Highlights

• Visit one of Sikkim's most beautiful high-altitude camping spots at 4,200 meters, offering stunning close-up views of Kanchenjunga, Mount Pandim, and the entire eastern Himalayan range.
• Trek through colorful rhododendron forests that bloom with bright red, pink, and white flowers during spring, creating a magical carpet of colors along the scenic mountain trails.
• Witness stunning sunrise views from the Dzongri Top viewpoint, where golden sunlight first touches the snow-covered peaks of Kanchenjunga and Mount Pandim.
• Stay at the well-equipped trekkers' hut that can hold 30 people, or camp under the stars on the wide grassy plateau with a fresh mountain stream flowing nearby.
• Enjoy a perfect beginner-friendly trek that takes only 5-7 days but still offers amazing Himalayan mountain views without needing advanced trekking skills or long expedition time.
