Elephant Beach Best Time to Reach

The Andaman and Nicobar islands are blessed with a tropical climate that is enjoyable for the most part of the year. If you are someone who loves bright sunny weather, then you can opt for visiting in the summer season, from the month of April to the month of June, till the rains start.

Another great time to visit the Elephant Beach is during the winter season, from the months of November to March, and this is also considered to be the best to visit the Andaman Islands. What makes this the best time to visit is that the climate is really pleasant and cool, but still sunny enough to be able to soak in the rays of the sun. Being the peak season, it is also the most expensive time to visit the beach.

The offseason for the beach is during the monsoon season, during the months of June to November. The beach is mostly closed for visitors during this period and no ferries travel during these months. You can always choose to walk to the beach, but there won't be much to do at the beach due to the rain, and most of the shacks will be closed too.

Elephant Beach Other Essential Information

Here is some other noteworthy information about Elephant Beach you should know:

Mobile Connectivity

As the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are an Indian Union Territory, most Indian Networks will work fine on the Island. However, there have been instances where certain networks don’t get range or coverage. Networks Jio and Reliance are not recommended to be used in the Islands, and the best mobile connectivity comes from the Vodafone network, so make sure that you or someone in your travel group has Vodafone or Airtel connectivity for the best results. At the beach, there might be some signal issues as it is a bit isolated, and you might not always get reception there, so be prepared to take a day off from your phone!

Medical Facilities

There are first aid kits on the beach, and if you are visiting through a travel or tour agency, then they will also carry a first aid kit along with them. However, there are no clinics on the beach and the nearest hospital or medical clinic is on Havelock Island, which is around 20 minutes from Elephant Beach by boat. If you take any specific kind of medication, we recommend that you carry it along with you and not rely on the medical facilities on the beach for them.

Timing to Visit

The beach is open from early in the morning, and ferries start traveling as early as 7 AM in the morning. The beach is only open for day trips and the last ferry leaves from the beach at around 3:30 PM the entire beach shuts down at around 4 PM. If you want to experience all the facilities and activities the beach has to offer, then make sure to leave early and plan to spend an entire afternoon at the beach, so you can enjoy all the water sports activities without having to be in a hurry.

Good overall experience with Thrillophilia for our Andaman trip. The island transfers were all pre-booked so we never had to scramble at the jetty. Havelock was beautiful. One hotel was a little farther from the beach than we expected but the team sorted it out within a day. Would still recommend for anyone planning Andaman.
