The rock-cut cave temple is one of the best places to visit in Kovalam and now comes under the supervision of the archaeological survey of India. The temple is very near the Kovalam beach and is located at a distance of 17 kms from Trivandrum. This is also one of the smallest rock shrines in the entire south of India.

Neyyar Dam

Neyyar Dam is one of the top attractions in Kerala's Western Ghats, close to Kovalam. It was built in 1958 and stretches across the Neyyar River. The Dam also acts as a source of irrigation and drinking water for the nearby villages. Additionally, it is also a peaceful spot where people go to enjoy nature and relax. It is surrounded by green hills and forests, making it a perfect place for picnics and boat rides. The calm water of the Dam is excellent for a quiet boat trip, offering lovely views all around.
