About Namgyal Institute of Tibetology

The institute was started by important people like the 12th Chogyal of Sikkim and opened by the 14th Dalai Lama and Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. There is a museum and two libraries inside the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. You can discover old Buddhist art, books, and rare texts there.


The museum has beautiful paintings, statues, and special objects used in rituals. You can discover lots of books about Tibetan culture and Buddhism in the libraries.


The institute also teaches courses in Tibetan Medicine and Buddhist Studies, so it's a great place to learn new things. Many history buffs and art lovers come to the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology to learn about Tibetan culture.
