Located on the Chitrasal Hills in Assam, the Navagraha Temple is a unique place of worship dedicated to the nine planets of the solar system. Built in the 18th century during the reign of Ahom King Rajeswar Singha, the temple features nine Shivalingas, each representing a planet and draped in a different coloured cloth. A tank called Silpukhuri was built nearby to provide a continuous water supply for locals and devotees.

There was a major earthquake in 1897 that damaged some parts of the structure. However, it was later rebuilt using strong iron sheets, helping preserve its spiritual and cultural value. The temple is now not only a place for prayers but also a centre for astrology and astronomy. It houses a library filled with old books and manuscripts related to these subjects and even has a telescope for observing celestial bodies, making it an important destination for both devotees and learners.
