Singhik is a peaceful village in North Sikkim, located just 4 km from Mangan and about 70 km from Gangtok, at an altitude of around 1,560 meters. Surrounded by pine forests and towering peaks, it is known for offering clear views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Siniolchu, especially from the Singhik Viewpoint. The sight of these majestic snow-capped mountains, glowing golden during sunrise, makes it one of the best places to visit in Sikkim for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Apart from mountain views, Singhik also offers glimpses of the Kanaka and Teesta Rivers meeting below. The village is also known for its ancient monasteries like Labrang and short forest trails that lead to scenic spots such as Jhandi View Point and the less explored Tosha Lake. Nearby places like Dzongu and Tingchim add cultural richness with their old monasteries and Lepcha heritage.
With traditional Lepcha homes, welcoming homestays, and local dishes like thukpa and gundruk, Singhik offers travellers a quiet, offbeat escape. Ideal for trekking, photography, or just relaxing in the lap of the Himalayas, Singhik is truly one of the hidden gems in Sikkim.
