About Städel Museum

Established in 1815, the Stadel Museum fairly lays a claim as Germany’s oldest museum foundations which exhibits a virtual survey of European art from the early 14th century to the present. The highlighted features of the museum’s displays include artworks from the Renaissance, Baroque, early Modern period and more.

The holdings also include artworks by master painters such as Claude Monet, Lucas Cranach, Sandro Botticelli, Pablo Picasso, Max Beckmann Gerhard Richter, Francis Bacon and others.
