Keeping their sacred symbolism in mind, there are certain rules that one has to follow while taking a bath in the ghats, like removing shoes and slippers away from the ghat, and avoiding passing equivocal remarks about Hinduism. Here is a list of the must-visit ghats on your Pushkar trip for a bountiful cultural exploration:

    1. Varaha Ghat: Varaha Ghat is situated near the Varaha Temple. According to Hindu mythology, Varaha is a half lion half human incarnation of Lord Vishnu, which he used to kill the demon Hiranyakashyap.

The ghat is thus situated beside the temple and attracts many Hindus from all across India to bathe in the holy water for penance for their sins. It is a tranquil place to spiritually immerse oneself into a sacred space of mind.

    Location: Main Market Road, Pushkar

    Timings: 8:00 AM – 9:30 PM

    2. Saptarishi Ghat: Saptarishis, according to Hindu mythology, are seven sages who enlightened themselves with the divine laws. The ghat is dedicated to the same. The aarti on this ghat is well-renowned all across Pushkar.

It takes place around 6:30 PM, and the priests dress up as the seven sages the ghat is named after. This spiritual setting attracts many tourists, locals and devotees alike.

    Location: Godavari Bund Road, Pushkar

    Timings: 5:30 AM – 8:00 PM

    3. Gwalior Ghat: Gwalior Ghat is an astounding collection of ancient styled buildings with balconies and latticed windows overlooking the lake. It is yet another popular place for pilgrims and Hindus to dive into the holy water and rid themselves of their past sins.

    Location: Pushkar, Rajasthan

    Timings: 9:30 AM – 10:30 PM

    4. Gangaur Ghat: Gangaur Ghat is the most-visited ghat, specifically during the Hindu festival of Gangaur. The market around it is lively, selling traditional clothes in various styles and the idols of Gangaur to be later immersed into water.

Like each ghat, this one is known for a curative power that rejuvenates the heart and the soul. It is also linked to various temples dedicated to Hindu Gods and Goddesses that attract devotees from all facets due to their architecture.

    Location: Pushkar Lake, Pushkar

    Timings: 6:00 AM – 8:30 PM

    5. Gau Ghat: Experience a mesmerizing sunset on your Pushkar trip at Gau Ghat while sipping on hot ginger lemon tea. The evening aarti, like all other ghats, is spiritually enlightening here too.

After taking a dip in the holy water, you can have the scrumptious malpuas from stalls around the ghat. There are shops that sell earrings, clothing items, and stylish jewelry at rock-bottom prices.

    Location: Pushkar Lake, Pushkar

    Timings: 12:00 AM - 12:00 PM
