Andaman Budget Tour Packages

Verified by Thrillophilia’s Andaman Team

Updated in June 2026

A budget trip to the Andaman starts from INR 16,690 and goes up to INR 24,300 per person for 3 to 6 days. These packages are designed for travellers who want to explore the islands without spending on premium stays and private transfers. Most itineraries cover Port Blair, Havelock Island, Neil Island, Radhanagar Beach, Elephant Beach, and the historic Cellular Jail.

Since these are budget packages for the Andamans, accommodation, transportation, and sightseeing costs are kept under control. Most trips use standard hotels, shared transfers, and pre-booked ferry tickets to keep overall expenses lower.

The itineraries include popular experiences such as visiting the Cellular Jail Light and Sound Show and spending time at Radhanagar Beach. You get to explore Neil Island and indulge in snorkelling or scuba diving activities while maintaining a practical budget.

Our packages include accommodation in verified standard hotels, internal transfers, ferry tickets between islands, and breakfast as per the package selected. Activities such as scuba diving, sea walking, and permits for protected islands are usually not included and need to be paid for separately.

By combining travellers into small groups and planning ferry schedules efficiently, these packages help reduce costs without missing the main highlights. A typical budget trip costs around INR 14,999 to INR 22,000 per person for a 5N/6D land-only itinerary. Packages with flights generally range from INR 25,000 to INR 38,000 per person, depending on the departure city and travel season.

Our Andaman trips are rated 4.6/5 by more than 12,000 travellers. The itineraries are built around practical ferry timings, realistic island transfers, and transparent pricing, allowing travellers to focus on the trip

How to Reach the Andaman Islands on a Budget — Flights vs. Ship from India (2026 Fares)

A budget trip to Andaman includes choosing flights smartly and not overspending on ferries. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located in the Bay of Bengal, so you can reach them either by flight or by passenger ship. For most travellers, flying to Port Blair is the easiest and most practical option. Once you reach Port Blair, you will need to use ferries to travel to islands like Havelock and Neil Island.

By Flight

The fastest way to reach Andaman is by flying to Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair. Direct and connecting flights operate from major Indian cities throughout the year. Thrillophilia provides you with the cheapest Andaman tour packages with airfare,

  • Chennai to Port Blair: 2 to 2.5 hours, ranging from INR 5,500 to INR 9,500 if booked early
  • Kolkata to Port Blair: 2 to 2.5 hours, ranging from INR 6,500 to INR 11,000
  • Bengaluru to Port Blair: 2.5 to 4 hours (direct/1 stop), ranging from INR 7,500 to INR 12,500
  • Hyderabad to Port Blair: 2.5 to 4 hours (direct/1 stop), ranging from INR 7,500 to INR 12,500
  • Delhi to Port Blair: 4 to 6 hours (direct/1 stop), ranging from INR 9,000 to INR 15,000
  • Mumbai to Port Blair: 4 to 6 hours (1 stop), ranging from INR 9,000 to INR 15,000

Note: Chennai and Kolkata usually offer the cheapest flight options for budget travellers.

By Sea

A ship journey is the cheapest way to reach Andaman, but it takes longer than flying.

  • Chennai to Port Blair: Around 50 to 60 hours
  • Kolkata to Port Blair: Around 60 to 70 hours
  • Visakhapatnam to Port Blair: Around 55 to 70 hours

Ship fares generally range from INR 2,500 for basic accommodation to INR 10,500 for higher categories. Services operate only a few times every month, so planning is essential.

From Port Blair to Havelock and Neil Island

There are no roads or trains connecting the islands. You will need to continue by ferry. Anusha Shetty, one of our verified travellers who booked the Andaman Coastal Retreat | Tropical Treasures and Island Delights package, shared in February 2026 that, “I booked the Andaman trip through Thrillophilia, and the experience was very smooth. The beaches were beautiful, and ferry transfers between islands were well arranged. The hotel stay was comfortable, and the itinerary allowed enough time to relax and enjoy the island views. Overall it was a peaceful and enjoyable vacation.”

Government Ferries

  • Port Blair to Havelock: INR 200 to 600
  • Port Blair to Neil Island: INR 200 to 600
  • Havelock to Neil Island: INR 200 to 500
  • Journey time: Around 2 to 2.5 hours

Private Ferries (Makruzz, Green Ocean, Sealink)

  • Fares: INR 1,000 to 2,200
  • Journey time: Around 1.5 to 2 hours
  • Faster, air-conditioned, and easier to book in advance

For budget trips, government ferries help keep overall travel costs significantly lower.

Places to Visit on a Budget Andaman Trip

While planning for your budget trip to the Andaman Islands, plan the top places to visit in Andaman without overcrowding your itinerary for a smooth and budget-friendly trip.

Cellular Jail

This is a historic prison from the freedom movement. You can walk through the old cells and small museums during the day. In the evening, the light and sound show explains real stories from that time in a simple, easy-to-follow way. The entry costs approximately INR 30 and INR 80 for the light and sound show.

Corbyn's Cove Beach

Corbyn’s Cove is the nearest beach to Port Blair (about 7–8 km away), renowned for its coconut-palm-fringed coastline, white sand, and water sports. It is a popular, easily accessible spot for swimming, sunbathing, and catching stunning sunsets just outside the city centre. This is the closest beach to the city. You can sit by the water, take a short walk, or just relax without planning much. It fits well as a quick stop after visiting nearby places.

Radhanagar Beach

Radhanagar Beach, located on Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) in the Andamans, is renowned for its pristine white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical forests. It is a wide, clean beach on Havelock Island. Famous for being named Asia's best beach, it offers a serene and picturesque escape ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and watching breathtaking sunsets. You can swim, walk along the shore, or stay back for sunset. No paid activity is needed here, which helps keep costs low.

Elephant Beach

Elephant Beach, located on Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is a premier destination for white sands, turquoise waters, and vibrant coral reefs. It is the primary water sports hub in the Andamans, famous for activities like snorkelling, sea walking, and glass-bottom boating. This spot is known for shallow coral areas. You can try snorkelling at a low cost or just spend time near the shore. It is one of the cheaper places to see marine life.

Bharatpur Beach

It is a calm beach on Neil Island. Bharatpur Beach is a stunning, white-sand beach located next to the main jetty on Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Famous for its shallow, crystal-clear turquoise waters, it is widely considered the best beach on Neil Island for swimming and water sports. The water is shallow, so it is good for swimming. If you carry your own snorkelling gear, you can explore without spending extra.

Laxmanpur Beach

Laxmanpur Beach is a scenic beach on Shaheed Dweep (Neil Island), famous for its dramatic sunsets, natural rock formations, and peaceful atmosphere. Located roughly 2 kilometres from the Neil Island jetty, it is divided into two distinct, popular sections: Beach No. 1 (the sunset point) and Beach No. 2 (the natural bridge). This beach is known for its rocky shoreline and sunset views. It is not meant for swimming, but it is a good place for an evening walk and simple photos.

Ross Island

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island (formerly known as Ross Island) is a historic island located just 3 kilometres east of Port Blair. It serves as an open-air museum, showcasing the ruins of the British administrative headquarters alongside friendly, roaming wildlife. This island is a short boat ride from Port Blair, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes. You can walk through old British-era ruins and open spaces. It works well as a half-day visit without adding much to your budget. But keep in mind that ferries operate only between 3 PM and 8 PM.

Things to Do in Andaman on a Budget (Free and Low-Cost)

These are the top things to do in the Andaman, while planning your budget trip to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Go beach-hopping.

Witness A: Cellular Jail evening show

At Cellular Jail, you can explore the building during the day and stay back for the light and sound show. Entry is INR 30; the show is INR 80, but it runs on fixed timings, so arriving a bit early helps.

At Elephant Beach, basic snorkelling costs around INR 500 to 1,000. All you have to do is just reach there and take it on the spot.

Rent a scooter and move around

On Havelock Island and Neil Island, scooters cost about INR 350 to INR 500 per day. This cuts out taxi costs and lets you cover beaches at your own pace.

Walk to the Natural Bridge

At Natural Bridge, you can walk during low tide and see the rock formation up close. No entry fee; just check tide timing locally.

Take a short trek at Chidiya Tapu

Near Chidiya Tapu, the Munda Pahad trail is an easy walk through the forest. You need no guides, and this one takes about an hour one way.

Vegetarian And Food Guide

Being a vegetarian the first question on your mind is "how to plan budget trip to andaman” if the only food you prefer is vegetarian. Well, Thrillophilia has you covered.

The Andaman Islands can be slightly challenging for vegetarian travellers because seafood is a major part of the local cuisine. When ordering food, always mention clearly that you do not want fish, seafood, or fish-based sauces.

With Thrillophilia’s budget tour package, you will get daily breakfast along with veg options and other meals as per the selected package.

As per the Thrillophilia destination experts, here are the top-picked restaurants for Indian travellers to get their desired meal.

Port Blair: Icy Spicy – Pure Veg and Annapurna Cafeteria Pure Veg are among the most reliable vegetarian restaurants in Port Blair. Lazeez Rooftop Restaurant also offers vegetarian and Jain-friendly meals.

Havelock Island: Vegan Life Pure Veg Restaurant, Green Heaven Pure Veg, and Dal Tadka Pure Veg Restaurant are good options.

For Jain travellers: Jain food is available only at selected restaurants and hotels. Inform your hotel or tour operator in writing before your trip so your dietary requirements can be shared with resort kitchens. This becomes important if you require meals without onion, garlic, or root vegetables.

Why Travellers Trust Thrillophilia for Budget Andaman Trips

With an average rating of 4.9, many verified travellers trust Thrillophilia for a budget trip to the Andaman because planning is clear and practical.

Hotels are simple guesthouses or 2-star stays. Government ferries are used at INR 200 to INR 600 instead of only private ferries like Makruzz. Scuba is kept within the budget range of INR 3,500 to INR 4,500, not forced into the higher INR 7,500 option.

We also plan around real things like DSS ferry tickets that open only 2 to 3 days before travel and sell fast. Daily costs like INR 80 for Cellular Jail, free beaches, and INR 350 to INR 500 for scooter rental are included. This avoids confusion and extra spending on the ground. Amanjot Grewal, one of our verified travellers from Chandigarh who booked the Discovering Andaman Islands | Beaches, Bays & Tropical Trails package, shared in March 2026 that “The Andaman Islands offer a beautiful and relaxing travel experience. The overall journey felt smooth and well organised. The itinerary allowed enough time to explore and unwind, which made the trip enjoyable. It turned out to be a memorable holiday.”
