Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary is a marine sanctuary that was established in order to protect the endangered species of the Gangetic Dolphins whose numbers have rapidly declined to just a few hundred over the last few years. This sanctuary is stretched over a span of 50 km of the river Ganges, starting from Sultangunj to Kahalgaon.

- Gangetic Dolphin was named the National Aquatic Animal of India by National Ganga River Basin Authority.
- The sanctuary is also home to other aquatic animals like Gharial and Fresh Water Turtles.
- The best time to visit the sanctuary is in the months between October and June.

How To reach:- Bhagalpur is 222km from Patna. You can reach here by rail and road easily. You can opt for pickup & drop at extra cost.
