The Bineshwar Mahadev temple is a well-known shrine of Lord Shiva in Uttarakhand. It sits in the quiet village of Binsar and was built in the 16th century by King Kalyan Chand of the Chand dynasty. It is a great example of traditional hill building. It has a typical slanted roof and walls made of skillfully carved stone all the way around. It is located along the path to Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and is surrounded by beautiful deodar and oak trees. This makes it a great place to visit in Uttarakhand for spirituality and nature to come together.

Local stories and legends say that the temple is connected to the spiritual depth of Kumaon's Shaivite traditions. The temple grounds are also a place for the community to get together during holidays like Maha Shivratri, when people get together to do rituals and have fun. Visitors looking for tranquility or a spiritual connection will find this a peaceful place to stop because of the quiet surroundings, chirping birds, and chilly mountain air.

A visit to Bineshwar Mahadev often complements a wildlife or hiking trip in Binsar, offering a complete cultural and natural experience.
