Parc Montsouris is one of the largest recreational natural spaces in the urban delight of Paris built by Napoleon 3 as an initiative to create green outdoors. Spreading across an area of 15.5 hectares, the park is mostly crowded with students as it lies in the vicinity of rue d'Alésia and accommodation of the Cité Universitaire de Paris student. Parc Montsouris possesses a stone monument with the exact location of the crossing imaginary line of the ‘Meridian of Paris’.

Parc de Montsouris is one of the largest green spaces of four large urban parks in Paris, located in the 14th arrondissement. The Park was built as a part of the development of the city of Paris along the cardinal points owing to its growing population back in the 19th century. Parc Montsouris was built by Emperor Napoleon 3 to provide recreational natural green space amidst the city’s urban lifestyle. Jean Charles Adolphe Alphand had designed this park in the style of an English landscape spreading across 15.5 hectares of area.

Parc Montsouris was opened in 1869 but was officially inaugurated in 1875. The park is located in the space between rue d'Alésia and the Cité Universitaire de Paris student accommodation, making it frequently occupied by the students. The park hosts a variety of flora and fauna like rare species of trees like Princess tree, Pride of India, and Silk trees. Cheerful animals are seen to be playing in the park such as wild ducks, herons, and different migratory birds.
