Place De La Concorde

Behind its establishment, Place de la Concorde has a long history. The place was designed in an octagon by Ange-Jacques Gabriel in 1755. The eastern corner of the area and the buildings there were under the French Naval Ministry.

During the French Revolution, Louis XV was thrown down as the king and the locality’s name was changed to Place de la Revolution. After that, a guillotine was set up in the centre of the area which was the execution ground of people like Louis XVI, Princess Elizabeth of France, Queen Marie Antoinette and many more. Post that, the name of the place was changed several times and then was kept as Place de la Concorde.

Best Time to Visit Place de la Concorde is from April to June and September to November as the place is an outdoor tourist attraction and spring season in France starts from April and summer from September.
