Point of Interest for Jispa

Camping

Jispa is famous for its camping spots situated around the river Bhaga. One of the best camping spots is right in front of Hotel Ibex, known as Wooden Huts. The place has several wooden huts installed and is owned by a local resident. You can order food from him and relieve yourself from cooking. There are many other spots near the river where you can tug in your waterproof tents and cook some delicious food for yourself.

As part of a Ladakh group tour, Jispa offers a perfect setting for bonding with fellow travelers—just relax by the peaceful surroundings, share stories, and sing your favorite songs around a warm bonfire.

Monastery

It is very common in Ladakh to find a Buddhist monastery, Jispa also greets its visitors with a famous Buddhist monastery that has been visited by Dalai Lama himself on his trip from Manali to Ladakh. All the Buddhist stupas are decorated with flowing Buddhist flags, making it a beautiful sight to witness on your Jispa trip.

Jispa Rural Museum

A museum managed by the rural population of the town, where one can witness the amazing history of Tod Valley. There are ancient relics and handicraft items kept in the museum for visitors to explore and understand the traditions of the ancient Ladakhi population. It's a great stop on a Ladakh family tour, offering both adults and kids a chance to learn about the region's rich culture. Outside the museum, artisan women sell traditional handicrafts, perfect for picking up a meaningful souvenir to take home.
