Valmiki Ashram

Located at a short distance from the main town area of Chitrakoot, Valmiki Ashram is a prominent attraction which is easily one the best Chitrakoot tourist places. This is where the great sage Valmiki mentioned in Hindu epics lived.

Sitting atop a hill draped in green vegetation, this ashram is frequented by tourists enthusiastic about religion, culture, and history. As per the popular belief, Lord Ram, Sita, and Laxman had visited this ashram on their way to Chitrakoot, and also the place where Luv and Kush were born.
