The temple is located on the river banks of Tons Nadi river and one of the very ancient space to offer prayers. Hosting a fair on every Shivratri, it attracts hundreds of devotees and let them relish in the peace. The major shrine is lying within the cave where water drips on the Shivling, giving the name of Tapkeshawar Mahadev.

Clock towers are specific buildings made to house a turret clock inside it. Turret clock is a clock which is a public amenity and larger than a domestic clock. It can have more than one face exceeding till four and even have a bell for the whole town to listen to the time.

The construction of this clock tower in Dehradun started in 1948 and completed in 1953. It doesn’t work anymore but it is said that at the time when it was working, the strike was that high that a person in the other end of the place could also hear it.

Moreover, it was inaugurated by our respected Lal Bahadur Shashtri Ji and the monument is worth watching once as it depicts the architecture style of that era.

Also known as ‘Rudreshwar Temple’, this temple is the place where Guru Dronacharya did his penance. He was the guru to Kauravas and Pandavas as written in Mahabharata.

Situated on the bank of river Ganga, this temple’s name has been combined using two terms, ‘tapo’ means ‘penance’ and ‘van’ means ‘forest’ suggesting a place where someone has had penance. Having said that, it is justified that this place is perfect for meditation as nestled in a valley with a free-flowing sacred river beside it.

It is Indian Military Academy, Dehradun which is the administrative headquarters established in 1932 after the recommendation by Indian Military College Committee under the chairmanship of Field Marshal Philip Chetwode in 1931.
