A fifteen-minute changing of the honor guard ceremony is held in front of the shrine's main gate. On national holidays the locals gather here to pay their respect to the martyrs.

Pay your homage to the February 28 Incident victims by visiting the National Taiwan Museum & 228 Memorial Park. Primarily built in 1908 by the Japanese, the park is the first European-style urban park in Taiwan. The park has been built in a traditional style, and it features Japanese gardens and ponds, walking paths, an amphitheater, and arched bridges.

The 228 museum reveals the dark side of Taiwan's history repressed for over thirty years by Taiwan's leaders due to fear of reprisal. It has more than ten thousand artifacts and features a Grecian façade, a domed hall, and an acanthus leaves-embellished pediment.

Located at a walking distance from the National Theater and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, The Presidential Palace is one of the best places in Taipei.
