Festivals of A-Ma and Tam Kung Temple

One of the major festivals held in the A-Ma Temple is the celebration of the birthday of Goddess A-Ma, also known as Tin Hau. Since Macau was initially a seaport, the fishery has always been a major economic aspect in the city. It is believed that Goddess Tin Hau is the protector of all fishing vessels against bad weather.
