Nungnung Waterfall

Among waterfalls near Ubud that are worth a visit is the Nungnung Waterfall. Falling from a height of 50 metres, Nungnung is definitely the most powerful and pretty waterfall that you may witness in Ubud.

It is no surprise then that it’s a major all-season tourist attraction, although the best time to visit is during the dry season between April to September. This is when the water pools at the base of Nungnung falls are shallow and safe for a refreshing swim.

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall

Believed to have spiritual cleansing powers, Goa Rang Reng is among those Ubud waterfalls that are visited by most locals. This surprisingly sprawling fall gushes down over a large bed of rocks and is a beautiful sight to witness! There is green shrubbery all around and a cave lies to the left of the falls.

Kanto Lampo Waterfall

Located very close to the city centre, Kanto Lampo is among the newer Ubud waterfalls. Originating from a dam, this scenic 15-metre high waterfall, with its water pouring over huge rock formations is a stunning sight to behold.

The glistening white water falls smoothly as it makes its way down over multiple levels and splashes into a shallow wading pool, where you can enjoy a cool dip or a picnic nearby.

Bangkiang Djaran Waterfall

Bangkiang Djaran is most certainly among the hidden gems of the area. Access to the waterfall is easy, simply following a short walk, but unfortunately, among the many waterfalls in Ubud, this fall doesn’t get the admiration it deserves!

The breathtaking panoramic beauty of these shorter falls is definitely worth a visit! Another short walk further down will reveal yet another waterfall at the other end of the river, alongside a small temple.

Air Terjun Tibumana

Amongst the most eye-pleasing Ubud waterfalls is Tibumana. These twin falls protect the entrance to a cave, in which rests the idol of Raja Besakih, a Balinese Hindu God.

Plunging from a height of 20 metres, the waterfall flows into a shallow clear pool encircled by huge rocks and moss, that might tend to get slippery, so you’d better watch out! This is a great spot for some camera captures and is slowly gaining popularity among the tourists, so make sure you visit it real soon!

Kuning Waterfall

Melasti Beach Waterfall

Gitgit Waterfall

Among the most popular waterfalls in Ubud is Gitgit with an easy trek path leading up to the gushing waters, 40 metres high. You make your way through cool streams and gorges and experience the dense rainforests, before being welcomed by the soothing waters.
